Many people come to me having been in burnout for a long time, a very long time, 5, 10 years... This should never happen. Recovering from burnout is very long but, if you put the right things in place, you should be able to go back to work after a year or so.
So what happened? What are the mistakes to avoid?
Going back to work too soon, after just a few months, either because you cannot wait to be back to something you love or because your sick leave is not renewed. This is way too soon. You cannot recover from burnout in 2 or 3 months, the risk is going in deeper than ever.
Your recovery strategy did not involve all that was necessary for you. A multi-therapy approach is always essential for a complete and durable recovery. Your whole system is down, body, mind, emotions, everything. If you only deal with one aspect, you cannot function properly. Nowadays, most people who come to see me have thought about the mental aspect (psychotherapy, counselling, coaching...) but very rarely about the physical aspect (nutrition, naturopathy, Chinese medicine, Ayurverdic medicine, energy healing...).
Going back too soon or too strong, even after a year or so: going back to work full-time without changing anything to how you were doing things before, going back to physical exercise full blast without realising this can fully deplete the little bit of energy you have just got back, starting a million new projects.
The result: exhaustion continues, sleep is disrupted, panic attacks do not go away, you are not able to function as you would like, even years after you collapsed in burnout.
If this is your case, please do not wait any longer! Make an appointement for an online consultation to:
Understand what is happening exactly and where you are at.
Review what you have already tried or put in place and what has been missing in your recovery strategy.
Advise you on your next steps to recovery.
In a nutshell, help you put in place everything that is necessary for your recovery.
